Network Adequacy in a Nutshell

Measurements of Adequacy

This second installment of Network Adequacy in a Nutshell provides a graphical overview of some of the measures of network adequacy that are being developed at the state and federal level. This overview presents these measures as points along a spectrum, ranging from purely quantitative measures at one end to more qualitative – or subjective – measures at the other. As you scroll down the page, please be sure to pause long enough to experiment with the interactive map that demonstrates the concept of one of the key adequacy measures.

This interactive map helps to demonstrate the fundamental relationship behind Enrollee to Provider ratios. Use the Enrollee and Provider sliders to vary the count of Enrollees or Providers in one particular county in Florida, and see how it impacts the adequacy of that particular network.
